Willow Gate Studios began with a simple idea: to create beautiful, useful things that bring a little countryside charm into everyday life.
At the heart of the studio is Willowbrook, our fictional English village of stone cottages, winding lanes, little shops, gardens, farms and familiar countryside characters. What started with a piece of artwork gradually grew into an entire world — and that world now inspires many of the things we create.
Our artwork is developed into carefully coordinated collections, from the Willowbrook countryside and village scenes to gardens, farms and the coast. A single design might begin life as a piece of wall art before inspiring stationery, a handmade wooden piece or another product in the studio.
Alongside our artwork you'll find practical stationery designed to be genuinely useful, including notepads, journals and printable pages. We believe everyday items can still feel special, and we love combining simple layouts with artwork that gives each collection its own character.
Our handmade range is created here in the studio too. We work with wood, paper and other materials to make gifts and home accessories, using tools including our laser cutter alongside traditional hands-on making and finishing.
One thing is particularly important to us: we don't want to make complicated products simply for the sake of making them complicated. We prefer thoughtful designs, simple production methods and products that we would genuinely be happy to use or give ourselves.
Physical products are made in small quantities or to order wherever possible, rather than producing large amounts of stock that may never be needed. Before a new handmade product joins the shop, we make and test it ourselves so we know how it looks, feels and works in real life.
Willow Gate Studios is still growing, and so is Willowbrook. New artwork, collections and ideas will gradually appear in the shop as they're created and tested.
